Sao Paulo is the capital of the same name, the largest city in South America and Brazil’s political and cultural center. The city is a state located in southeastern Brazil.

The most prosperous city in Brazil, Sao Paulo seems to possess its own energy, more relaxed style very different from the Rio. Paulistanos (Sao Paulo residents) are known for working with energy, but I know to have fun at the end of the day.

Culinary styles from around the world takes on a specific flavor in restaurants. Intense cultural life is manifested through exhibitions, annual festivals, plays, concerts and dance performances, while clubs and discos can rival those in Rio de Janeiro. Shopping is a particularly paulistanos appreciated.

It boasts a larger helicopter than New York’s chic Manhattan neighborhood, the South American elite used to get from their residences and avoid downtown traffic below.

Sao Paulo Geography

It lies between the city of Rio de Janeiro and the Atlantic Ocean (which is bordered to the east), Paraná State (south), Mato Groso do Sul (the West), Minas Gerais State (north). Sao Paolo is located in a coastal plain, and the highest heights are Serra do Mar mountains.

The city has a humid subtropical climate. Temperatures sometimes reach 30º C in summer, but winter frost is a rare phenomenon.
